WELCOME

We are located in the fertile Yakima valley. Bill and Julie, that’s us, own and operate the farm along with several of our children. We were raised just a few miles away in Prosser and Grandview, Washington, amidst other productive farms. We always dreamed of owning our own farm one day.

Bill, a second-generation orchardist with many years of experience in orchard and row crop farming, handles all aspects of the farm production and management. Julie ‘keeps the home fires burning’, so to speak, and teaches the school tours and offers the creative vision that keeps things fresh and fun. Bill’s wide knowledge of horticulture comes in extremely helpful creating a sustainable farm that will be here for years to come.

Our children have always been involved in our farm. As they’ve grown older, they have taken on more responsibility for day to day operations. Our oldest three children are now grown and are working off the farm. Our younger 6 are growing up quickly and skillfully cover many jobs at our farm. They are an essential part of our operation.

SINCE 1994

We purchased the farm in 1994 from the White family. The first orchards consisted of Golden Delicious apples as well as Bing and Van cherries planted in the mid 1960’s by the White family. With our careful, sustainable, biological farming practices, we are still picking some of those fields today.

We have expanded the farm and planted more cherry and apple varieties to extend the picking season. We’ve added organic blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. We also have planted biologically grown asparagus, strawberries, peaches, apricots, nectarines, plums, pears and apples. We also grow corn for a maze, 8 acres of alfalfa, and many acres of pasture for rotational grazing.   In 2018, we expanded into hazelnuts and are looking forward to the grove’s first harvests in 2021.  This brings are total farmed acreage to 70 acres!

GROW WITH US

It is our goal that with the use of sustainable, biological farming practices, our children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren will be able to keep Bill’s Berry Farm in healthy production for the future generations. We believe in healthy eating, thus healthy farming, and we treat our farm like an extension of our family’s large natural yard and garden. In that regard, we strive to provide you with some of the best fresh, healthy produce the valley has to offer.

We also think ‘unplugged,’ screen free, time outdoors is vitally important to health and well-being. We want to encourage family togetherness by providing a wholesome farm setting for your family to enjoy God’s beautiful creation. We hope that Bill’s Berry Farm will be a place that all ages and generations can come to enjoy the farm life we are privileged to enjoy every day.

We look forward to the future growth and expansion of Bill’s Berry Farm over the coming years. Our ideas are big and our list is long. We invite you and your family to grow with us!
