Meet the Michener’s
Bill’s Berry Farm is located in the beautiful fertile Yakima valley just north of Grandview, Washington. We, Bill and Julie, own and operate the farm along with six of our nine children. Having both been raised in the valley just a few miles away amidst other productive farms we dreamed of the day we could have our own farm.
What Our Farming Practices Are All About
Here at Bill’s Berry Farm we use biological farming practices. While that may sound wonderful, you are probably wondering what exactly biological means. Since it’s not a term as familiar as ‘conventional’ or ‘organic’, here’s an explanation we hope you will find helpful.
Biological Farming is different from Organic Farming because the focus of Biological farming is to enhance the quality and micronutrients of the soil. Biological farming is focused on replenish-ing what the plants take from the soils, using the least amount of chemicals necessary.
Organic farming use fertilizers and organic chemicals to replenish the main soil that directly af-fect plant growth. Biological farming believes in making soil amendments to modify the soil structure, coming together grow excellent produce that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.
