I don’t seem to have time anymore to blog more than once a week. It has just been busy, busy around here!
So, here is the weeks update, complete with pictures… be very proud of me, this was an accomplishment in and of it self!
Last time I blogged I told you I would give you a tree fort update. Here it is…
It is not as scary as it looks, partly because we didn’t really get very far. We still have stairs to build (Brian worked on them today) and railings that will go all the way around. And it is only 8 feet off the ground, so if some kid does manage to fall off, hopefully they won’t be injured, causing their parents to sue us! The good news is, we worked on some other things too. Like this…
This, in case you didn’t recognize it, is our u-pick shelter. It is a little area fenced off on the back side, with a half wall on the front side and will have a lattice ‘roof’ to provide shade for those of us working in it. Brian brought some of the stuff home from the lumber yard in his farm truck; it really is handy sometimes.
Here is the front side. We recycled the siding off an old shed we tore down, isn’t it cute? There will be a counter top along there so we can weigh out the fruit you pick!
I also found time to get out the painting stuff. Though not my favorite subject to paint I almost finished 3 of these…
Each sign is painted front and back, and tomorrow Farmer Bill will assign a boy to go put them out along the road.
So there was a lot of good news and things accomplished… the bad news is we didn’t really FINISH anything. Oh, well. I guess that is the way it goes some days.
On a brighter note, the pumpkins are coming up!! Yay! it is nice to see progress that doesn’t require us to do anything.
All right, enough of my rambling this evening. I have furniture to paint so that we can sell it the day of Antiques on the Farm… which is only 12 days away!
