Every recipe has a prep time on it, and if you want whatever it is you are making to turn out right you have to pay attention and allow enough time to do the job right.
While the Michener family seems to be the master of last minute changes to the recipe, we do start all the preparation for our festivals quite a ways ahead.
The last couple months we have been working on some farm improvements. Here’s a peek a few of them….
Farm Wife Julie rounded up the farmhands and put in some new landscaping at the park…
New trees, arbors, fences, benches, and birdbaths are now improving the view!
Farmer Brian has also been working on some new, permanent, hand washing stations for the bathrooms and petting zoo…
Right now they just look like faucets, but they will have water trough ‘sinks’ and soap and paper towel dispensers too!
And today’s project…
was some concrete work!
Farmer Bill and Farmer Brian and their young farmhands poured a concrete floor in our little shed so that we would have a better place for our donut equipment, and the fridges and freezers we use for the concession stand.
It’s going to be so nice.
We still have a few weeks of prep time left, but we’ll let you know how things are progressing in our recipe for great festivals!
